Review: A Primer for Beginning Authors

I had the pleasure of meeting Kris Tualla at the recent Desert Dreams Conference when she invited me to join her party for breakfast.  She’s charming and an enthusiastic proponent of independent publishing.

Tualla’s book, A Primer for Beginning Authors, is an excellent overview of what it takes to make it in publishing today.  A beginner can’t go wrong using this book as a jumping off place.  She discusses the highlights of craft, networking, and marketing with knowledge and wit in this slim volume that will only take an afternoon to read.  Even more experienced writers will find something useful here.  I certainly did.
