What Did You Give Up, To Get What You Got?

Maybe the perfect life in perfect balance isn’t the ideal goal. This excellent blog reminds me of the saying, “You can have it all, just not all at the same time.” What I like about this post is that the author is also saying that it’s okay to not even want to have it all.

It is, perhaps, not the having, but the striving, that is the real joy.

  1. This was a great blog find, Frankie. I love how she asks, “Are ease and perfection really the magic ingredients?” As a culture we seem to be striving to have our lives be easy and perfect. Yet the pursuit of having the perfect family, career, house … and our insistence on having it all “right now” has arguably added to the recent economic and social distress. Sometimes perfection can be defined as the gratitude you feel for the life that you have.
